Mitch Sangl is the owner of Ponderosa Tree Care. He meets with clients, both residential and commercial, to offer advice on improving the care of their trees and property, which includes providing them with the benefits and drawbacks of tree removal and tree pruning, as well as explaining environmental factors affecting their trees, such as insects, diseases, and weather.
Mitch has always carried a passion for the outdoors growing up. Hunting, fishing, hiking, and snowboarding are just a few of his favorite outdoor activities. He followed this passion, pursuing a career as a wildlife biologist. Forest ecology was his favorite class in college which fueled his interest in the tree care industry. With this newfound interest, he decided to obtain a degree in forestry. Mitch received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Plant Science from South Dakota State University. While attending college, he worked for a local tree company to gain hands-on experience within the green industry. He also competed in collegiate tree-climbing competitions throughout the country.
Mitch has been involved in the tree care industry since 2014, holding various positions from tree climber, crew foreman, safety coordinator, and arborist consultant in both private and corporate tree companies. He holds various credentials including, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Qualification, TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional, and TCIA Qualified Trainer.
